Why can't I find a case in Court Lists when searching by location?

If you can’t find a civil or criminal case in the Local or District court when searching for a case, make sure you are searching using the right location.

  • For civil cases, prior to the courtroom being assigned, the location will be listed as ‘Sydney’. When the courtroom is assigned, the location will be ‘John Maddison Tower.
  • For criminal cases in the Local or District court, if the courtroom has not been assigned yet, the location will be listed as Sydney Downing Centre’.  When the courtroom has been assigned, the location will be ‘Downing Centre’.
  • For Supreme Court listings, prior to the courtroom being assigned, the location will be listed as ‘Supreme Court Sydney’.  Once the courtroom has been assigned, the location will be ‘Law Courts Building’, ‘King St Building’, ‘Darlinghurst’, ‘St James’ Road’, or ‘Hospital Road’.
